Why this exists

Every bank and broker has a mortgage calculator. Most are slow, cluttered, and quietly wrong about Canadian details like semi-annual compounding or the CPP2 contribution. None of them explain their math. We think a calculator should work instantly on a phone, use the real 2026 rules, and show every step so you can check it yourself.

What we don't do

No sign-up, no email gate, no pop-ups, and no advice. We do not sell your data. We are not licensed advisors; the tools give general information, and decisions that matter deserve a professional who knows your situation.

Who builds it

Nishant Malik, founder of GlassLayer. Director of product management with 16 years in product and technology; came to Canada as a newcomer and built the tools he wished had existed.

Nishant Malik founded GlassLayer after eight years of piecing together his own Canadian money decisions from a dozen different sites. He arrived in Canada as a newcomer, and at every stage since, from the first paycheque and the first tax return to buying a home and planning for retirement, the answer was scattered across government pages, bank calculators and forums, and the tools were rarely built for the person using them. With 16 years in product and technology, he decided to build the one place he had been looking for: every calculator sourced from the CRA, the provinces and CMHC, tested against their published examples, and designed so you can do the thing you came for without reading a manual. GlassLayer does not give personal advice; it shows you the numbers and the math behind them, so you can check them yourself.
